The River Place Men’s Golf Association (MGA) promotes golf friendships, contests and events for the men golfers at River Place. These activities include monthly tournaments, weekly tee times and optional skins, challenge events and social activities. The events are geared for golfers of all skill levels, ranging from beginner to scratch golfer. We hope you can join us in as many of our monthly Member tournaments and other varied and challenging events as you can!

MGA activities include:

Monthly Tournaments

Usually held on Saturday mornings, these events vary in format each month from individual flighted tournaments to team events. The Golf Pro Shop will always help find you a partner if your usual buddy is out of town. All skill levels welcome and encouraged!

River Place Cup

For every MGA monthly tournament in which you participate, you receive MGA points. The players with the top 24 points during the year compete in December for the River Place Cup. This is a 36 hole tournament with the same format as the Ryder Cup.

Saturday Open MGA Play

Every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. the Pro Shop reserves tee times for MGA open play. Call ahead to put your name on the list, and play with people you know or meet new friends. There are also optional skins games during the Saturday play.

Monthly Inter-Club Matches

For nine months of the year, River Place participates in the Austin Area Inter-Club matches, where 10 volunteers of varying skills play against teams from other courses at different courses around town. Represent River Place while playing other great courses in Austin!

Challenge Matches–Match Play

Play until only one man is left standing! Each year our golfers try for the River Place Match Play Championship, where matches are scheduled individually over a course of two months, and winner takes all! (Handicap and scratch divisions).
